Stress, Anxiety and Depression Management

We all feel certain levels of stress, anxiety or depression at certain points throughout our lives.  Many of us deal with this on a regular basis and are able to cope without any intervention.  So how do you know if it's time to seek professional help?  If you feel so anxious or depressed that it's difficult to complete regular daily activities, to interact with your friends and family, or even just to get through the day, then you would likely benefit from talking to someone who can give you professional guidance and support.  If this describes how you feel and you're ready to seek help, I would be glad to hear from you.

Also, you may have seen a psychologist or psychiatrist before and been diagnosed with depression or an anxiety disorder.  If this is the case and you are at a point where you would benefit from continued support (short-term or long-term), please give me a call.

Trauma/Abuse Recovery Counseling

If you have experienced a personal trauma
, family violence, verbal, sexual, physical or emotional abuse at any time in the past, you may still be feeling the effects. Even if years have passed, you may still be dealing with what happened to you. Perhaps your mental and physical health are affected.  You may feel "numb" a lot of the time or have unexplained anger.  Perhaps it is affecting your relationships, or your body may be feeling the effects of long-term stress. Do you find yourself remembering what happened, and feeling shame, or guilt? Do you feel like you want to talk about it, but are embarassed?

The first step can be the most important step.  Deciding to reach out to a skilled, compassionate professional can begin the healing process.  Recovery from trauma or abuse is not something you have to go through alone.  If you're ready, please give me a call today.

Support Before, During and After Major Life Events

Sometimes we need support and guidance to get through a specific situation.  Perhaps you and your family are grieving the loss of a loved one, or maybe you have lost a special relationship.  You may have just moved to Seattle and aren't adjusting well, or perhaps you are planning a wedding, and family tensions are rising to the surface.  Whatever the situation may be, short-term therapy can help you gain support, think more clearly and come out stronger on the other side.
